PESEL is not a condition of ownership
PESEL identifies an individual in Polish public registers. It is not generally required merely to own shares or serve on a management board.
A foreigner may receive PESEL through residence registration or apply at a municipality when a legal provision requires it. Confirm the application and representation method for the individual case.
02 · Public e-identity
Profil Zaufany (Trusted Profile)
Profil Zaufany is a free Polish electronic identity for many government services. It is linked to a PESEL number, which is why the two are often confused.
It can support S24 and official filings, but the signing method accepted by a specific portal should be checked before incorporation.
03 · Commercial signature
Qualified electronic signature
A qualified signature under the EU eIDAS framework has the legal effect of a handwritten signature. It is often practical for a foreign founder who does not otherwise need Polish electronic identity.

May accept a qualified signature; verify certificate format and portal compatibility.
CRBR
An authorised company representative may sign with an accepted qualified signature or Trusted Profile.
Other filings
Financial statements and government portals can impose their own role and format requirements.

Remote founder
A compatible qualified signature is often the direct route.
Person living in Poland
PESEL and Trusted Profile can be useful for wider public administration.
Founder abroad
Do not assume a representative can complete every identity step; verify the current procedure.
05 · After incorporation
Prepare the CRBR signing method early
CRBR is signed by an authorised representative; an ordinary power of attorney is not a substitute for the statutory signatory. Prepare the signing method before KRS registration.
